Additional WFNJ Work Activities
MCBOSS has the following grant initiatives to serve the WFNJ TANF and GA populations.
Supported Work Program - This program is only open to TANF recipients. It is offered on-site at MCBOSS. It provides a balance of classroom activities with active job hunting. Supported Work staff also develops relationships with employers in order to assist participants with job placement and retention services.
Welfare to Work Competitive (EFFORTS) Grant - This program is only open to TANF recipients that have been on assistance for over 30 months, have a low educational level and poor work history. Participants receive intensive case management, job matching and targeted placement, and job retention services.
Jobs Plus Coordinators - This program is only open to TANF recipients that have been on assistance for over 60 months and have a poor work history, low skills or no high school diploma.
Mercer County Office of Training and Employment Services Grant - This program encourages sanctioned TANF recipients to participate in a work activity which would result in sanction removal. Additionally, General Assistance/Able Bodied Adults Without Dependents (GA/ABAWD) receive assistance from Case Managers to help them become self-sufficient through placement in a work activity.
